Test Your Gortex 3-D Shoot
January 12 - 13, 2013
This shoot, Wapiti's earliest of the 2011 3-D trail shoot season, is often a test of the shooters' rain gear, boots, intestinal fortitude and ability to handle the elements of an Oregon winter. Shooters are often grateful for a roaring fire back at the covered (and dry) shooters' pavilion and a cup of hot coffee from the cook shack. Can you take it?
Wet & Wild 3-D Shoot
February 16 - 17, 2013
Although winter weather has usually started to subside for the season, Wapiti's second 3-D shoot of the 2011 season can often be a "tester", too! Successful shooters must be able to concentrate on making a good shot under trying conditions and challenging target placements. A hot Wapiti burger or Wapiti dog meal from the cook shack is usually a welcome break during or at the end of a day's shooting!
Cinco de Arrow 3-D Shoot
May 4-5, 2013
This may be Wapiti's best 3-D trail shoot of the season if past history holds true! The site conditions are prime and weather is usually pleasant. Shots often begin to stretch out as trails are set up to be even more challenging as hunting seasons approach. While the roaring fire may not be necessary any longer, the comaraderie around it is still the best!
Bonanza 3-D Shoot
June 15-16, 2013
What can better than a 3-D shoot in early summer at Wapiti's Beaver Creek range? The weather is warm, summer foliage is fresh and green, and the shooting is out- standing! The trails are set up to challenge even the best shooters although the needs of beginning shooters are considered, too. Harold McCraven is barbequing his mouth-watering chicken for the cook shack!
Mel Schmidt Memorial 3-D Shoot
August 17-18, 2013Wapiti's last shoot of the 3-D trail shoot season, just a week before the opening of archery deer and elk season, is a great chance to fine tune both the shooter and his or her hunting gear! Shots are often the longest and/or most difficult of Wapiti's 3-D season so shooters arfun.e challenged to prove their readiness for the hunting season. A cook shack meal of Harold McCraven's famous barbequed chicken is a highlight of Wapiti's 3-D season for many!
